Every guest receives one-to-one care and attention, with a dedicated staff-to-dog ratio of one to eight. This allows plenty of time for individual walks, exercise sessions, and cuddles. A Bit About Us

Farm Cottage is owned and run by Alice and Bill, two lifelong dog lovers with years of hands-on experience. Before taking on Farm Cottage, they successfully ran a home boarding business that earned them “Family Business of the Year 2024” at the Lancashire Pet & Animal Care Awards.

Their dream was to expand their services and create a complete, friendly, and stimulating environment for dogs — and Farm Cottage Home Boarding is the result. “We’ve set the business up in a way that we’d want our own dog to be looked after,” says Alice. “That means daily updates and photos, lots of cuddles, and plenty of individual attention.”

Together, they’ve raised and cared for several dogs over the years, including rescues and those with behavioural challenges. Their current pack includes Poppy, a Border Collie, and Del, another rescued Collie who recently joined the family. Their past companions, Archie the Border Terrier and Billy the Beagle — rescued after eight long years in a shelter — have both passed over Rainbow Bridge, but their memory continues to inspire the care and compassion that Farm Cottage is built upon.
