Abdul-Rahman Al-Ghabban is widely recognized as one of the Middle East’s most influential voices in strategy, infrastructure development, and giga-scale transformation. His career began in the Kingdom’s public sector, where he contributed to major national transformation initiatives across organizations such as King Abdullah City for Atomic & Renewable Energy, the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, and SAGIA. These early roles grounded him in policy, economic development, and cross-government collaboration, foundations that would later prove essential as he transitioned into one of the world’s most respected engineering and construction companies.

When Abdul-Rahman joined Bechtel in 2013, he embarked on a trajectory defined by rapid progression and impact. He advanced from Business Development Manager to Deputy Country Manager, eventually becoming Country Manager of SABCO, where he helped strengthen Bechtel’s presence and momentum within Saudi Arabia’s expanding investment and infrastructure landscape. His global assignments further broadened his influence: leading business development for Bechtel’s Energy GBU in Houston, serving as Deputy Manager for Corporate BD, and later driving international growth within Bechtel’s Manufacturing & Technology business.

In 2023, he returned to Saudi Arabia as Vice President of Bechtel’s KSA Infrastructure, contributing to pivotal public-sector initiatives aligned with the Kingdom’s ambitious national development agenda. Today, as President & Regional Manager, Middle East, Abdul-Rahman oversees regional strategy, customer partnerships, talent development, and the successful delivery of complex infrastructure programs across multiple sectors. His work directly supports economic diversification, sustainable urbanization, and long-term societal value creation across the region.

A professional engineer with a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from KFUPM, he further strengthened his global leadership perspective through the Emerging Leaders Program at London Business School and an Executive Master’s in Energy Management from BI Norwegian Business School. His commitment to industry advancement extends beyond business operations: as Chairman of Saudi Arabia’s buildingSMART chapter, he is an active champion of digital transformation and innovation in construction.
